21st May 10-4pm - The Art of Wellbeing Workshop - Exploring Sanctuary.
21st May 10-4pm - The Art of Wellbeing Workshop - Exploring Sanctuary.
Our forthcoming exhibition in April this year explores Sanctuary -
The concept of sanctuary is integral to human nature—gathering in safe spaces, building spiritual havens, and discovering who we are beyond our mundane daily lives. A sanctuary is steeped in intention, reverence, and peace. It is often a physical place of refuge where the imprints of truce exist. It seems, to me, a fitting theme for a day long workshop in this often stressful and uncertain world that we live in.
Join creative expressive practitioner, artist and mindfulness teacher Rachael Pinks for a creative arts workshop that explores the theme of Sanctuary.
A workshop offering 4 participants time. space and support to explore sanctuary & what it means for you in your life. we’ll explore mindfulness ideas and find creative solutions that can be easily rooted into your busy lives.
The day will be filled with sharing insights and experiences. We'll look at how mindfulness & creativity can support us in our daily lives. We'll explore some creative expressive tools too - including creating a unique book/journal for you to make notes, add insights and create images to look back on and move forward in weaving a sense of sanctuary into your life.
No previous experience of art/creativity or mindfulness is needed: just a willingness to explore - this workshop is about our unique creative process/expression, feelings and thoughts around the theme, rather than our artistic abilities and skills.
The workshop starts at 10am and ends at approx 4pm. Materials, refreshments and lunch are all included in the cost of the workshop: which is held in the spacious, beautiful, calm and peaceful Old Lock Up Gallery.
A nourishing day where we will pause, connect and explore how to create a lasting sense of sanctuary: including how to create feelings of calm and safety when life seems difficult.
We will come together to explore the theme in a gentle and guided way - with a sense of knowledge that all of our experiences and expressions are of value, welcomed & appreciated. And that within the group we will have many insights to share with one another.
The workshop will be a blend of:
Guided meditation.
Guided mindfulness practices.
Group discussion.
Creative art explorations: including simple book making as a visual record/journal.
Creative tools that can be used as a ritual to nourish us and celebrate sanctuary.
Self reflection.
Group reflection.
Sanctuary - 10-4pm, costs £65. Rachael Pinks is an accredited mindfulness teacher and has a BA Hons in Arts Therapies.
This workshop is not a form of therapy, and in no way constitutes therapy. It is a safe space for participants to explore themselves and the theme creatively and with curiosity whilst receiving support and guidance. The outcome may be therapeutic, you may experience personal insights. And from this you may decide that you wish to explore the theme further either creatively or with the support of a therapist.
Places are limited to 4 participants: booking is essential
